About Us
Sunshine Montessori is a private school located in Billerica, Massachusetts that is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). We serve preschoolers in the ages 2.9 – 6 years in a multi-age classroom setting. The mission of Sunshine Montessori is to provide a peaceful, nurturing, mixed age, child centric learning environment using didactic, sensorial, and self-correcting Montessori materials and philosophy. We aim to provide a nurturing environment where each child is treasured so that they are happy, learn grace and courtesy, enjoy working on their materials and look forward to coming to school every day. We believe in the Montessori principle of “follow the child” in order to meet each child’s individual and unique needs and interests.
Sunshine Montessori Lead teachers are Montessori trained and EEC certified. Assistant teachers would have studied Child Development and Growth and are EEC certified and/or certified Montessori Assistants. We will also have Assistants that are pursuing a Montessori program and will be working with us as part of their practicum training. We aim to be members of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Montessori Schools of Massachusetts (MSM).
